Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any insight into an issue I'm having. I'm connecting to the internet through my apartment building's built-in LAN and I can't connect to any secure sights through my computer (ex. hotmail login, amazon.com checkout, etc.). My girlfriend's laptop works fine though on the same connection. My browser settings haven't changed at all. I have two ethernet cards in my computer and have have tried them both.

The problems started after I connected my xbox live. I connected one of my ethernet cards to the internet and copied the MAC address. Then I unplugged it and used that MAC address to connect my xbox live. Then I went back to my computer and connected the other ethernet card for internet access. I also have a VPN client on my computer but only use it when connecting for work. Any help would be greatly appreciated....I'm about ready to pull my hair out. Thanks in advance! :(

Try here, that has been a useful site for me in the past when I encountered similar issues with IE6 and secure sites.

I tried all the methods on that link but unfortunately the didn't work. All normal websites work, so I can't figure out the problem. It's so frustrating...blah!

In IE6 go to tools/options. Click on the Advanced tab and hit the "Restore Defaults" button. Restart IE and see if it works. If that doesn't fix it you can try reinstalling IE, I've had to do that once in order to get rid of that problem. Sorry I can't be more specific but I've worked on 4 systems with this exact issue that I can remember and each one of them needed a different fix. You could always download a copy of Firefox. ;)
