I just got a new raptor HD and I did a drive clone from my old hitachi deskstar (sataII drive).

Basically, I am going to ue my deskstar 500gig as a storage drive for movies, music, etc.

However, when I tried to load off my raptor it says "error loading os". I did the drive clone via western digital's program.

Anyone know what is wrong? I really do not wan to have to install windows again fresh.

What program did you use? There are a lot of drive cloning software.

What version is the program?

What were the options that you checked?

I am no expert and have only cloned my HDs twice. (successfully, with Ghost...) Therefore, I may or may not be able to help you. However, more details will definitely allow other people to help you out.

Trying cloning one more time using WD's utilities - they work fine. However, check jumper settings - WD drives have some quirks about the jumpers and will not boot if not set the "correct way" - I recall Mechbgon pointing this out in a couple of recent posts.
