Can't choose large fonts

I have just replaced somebody's 15" CRT with a 17" LCD, and uninstalled and reinstalled (via auto-detect) the PnP Monitor driver in the process. I've got them up to 1280x1024 and have ClearType enabled, but I cannot choose a larger font size. Normal is the only option in the drop-down menu. Everything's a bit tiny to work with, can somebody help? This is WinXP SP1a.
 
Open up Control Panel/Display/Advanced. Then on the upper DPI setting, select LARGE FONT or a percentage enlargement that suits you.
