Hi, i can't check my email now with my SMC router connected. I tried going into dos and typing in "ping mail" and i took the mail address and copied it into the email program. That won't work. Also, if i used "smtp" that doesn't work either. Both methods work fine without the router. I am with Rogers cable in Toronto if that helps. Please let me know what else i can do to check my email. thanks!

I had the same problem. You have to put in the full server address.

ex. mine used to be "mail". I had to change it to "mail.xx.yyyyyyyyy.net"
i forget how i found it out, i had to ping something, but forget what ATM.
someone pointed me in the direction of a FAQ on the Linksys site, check there.

It should be the same server for both POP3 and STMP (was in my case at least).

Good, I thought one of those server combinations might do the trick. I knew it wasn't the router anyway as I use the SMC.

I've never seen an ISP use only "pop" and "smtp" to direct to and from the mail servers. Odd.
