Windows XP Pro, I'm the admin... I can open it up and change the time but whenever I press Apply or OK, it goes back to what it was. Thanks.

Probably because you have it setup to go to a time server on the internet.

If you have this setup, it will use the net time to update your computer's time.

You'll have to turn it off.

yeah, its the same place, different tab, just uncheck the checkbox that says sync with internet time server... those things tend to be pretty accurate, maybe pick another server or something, unless you deliberately want to have a different time...

If the time is showing up as wrong and it's syncing from a time server than odds are you have the wrong time zone set. Fix your time zone first.

Also if your machine is a member of an active directory domain dont bother trying to stop time syncs. If it's a stand-alone client than ensure you're in the correct time zones and review the other posts above.

Yep, it was synchronized with an internet time server. I unchecked that and rechecked it and now it has the right time for some reason :s (It was synching to ~5 minutes fast before.)

If it was synching with a time server, the five minutes fast was more than likely the 'real' correct time. Maybe all of your other clocks are off ;)

Nah, it was 5 minutes off from time.gov, which matched the clocks in my house.
