Slap me if this is in the wrong place.

My home page is set to google.com and no matter what, I cannot chage this. It pisses me off. Please help.

How about Microsoft AntiSpyware beta? Did you by any chance use Spybot S&D to lock the homepage from being changed from within the browser? If so, close the browser (assuming Internet Explorer here) and go to Control Panel > Internet Options, and set it there.

I tried that. I changed it to blank and default then close the internet options dialog box. When I open it, it's back to google again.

And that's your home PC, not a work PC in a domain, right?

What anti-spyware software do you have installed? One of them is 'protecting you' by setting it back automatically.

It's a home PC, no domain.

I'm running Adaware Pro with Ad Watch. Wonder if that could be doing it.

Ah ha, It was Adwatch that was doing it. Thanks bsobel. :)

Thanks Sully, I did run hijackthis and it came up clean. It was Adwatch causing the problem. i turned off "protect from browser highjacking" and it fixed the problem. Now all I have to do is figure out how to change my home page AND remain protected. :)
