cant change boot.ini to add linux boot option in win2k

Ok, i can open the file and stuff, but it is read only, so i can add the linux boot option into this file. It wont let me save any changes. I have followed the instructions in the faq to the letter, so what is going on?

Also, will the fact that I use the GRUB boot loader for linux mess anything up?

I've only used LILO for booting Linux, but I guess it should work fine with GRUB too.

Grab BootPart to begin with.
Run it so you get the linux boot file., I dont remember the options, but just run the program and it will tell you what to do.

Then just remove the read-only attribute from the boot.ini file, just right click->Properties in explorer, and you can edit away.
