Can't change AOL IM password

  ask for billing
  tell them to cancel you account
  find another ISP

Ummm.... warlord, read the title of the post... he's having trouble changing his AOL Instant Messenger password. Don't know what to tell you, oblivion... maybe see if the AIM webpage offers any help?

I tried changing mine a couple days ago and had the same problem.. I think it's an AOL issue..

like I give a flying fyck. installing anything to do with aol on your comp is asking for a problems.

I speak from expience, aol crashed my computer many a time. the last time I started seeing signs of an approaching crash, I unistalled aol (because I was able to get a discount on a local company) all of my problems disappeared. tell me thats by chance.

Well, I've been using AOL IM for about 3-4 years now and have NEVER had a problem with it. It's very nice piece of software.

I think you're mixing up AOL and AIM. AIM doesn't screw up all the network protocols and settings as AOL does. Furthermore, almost all windows programs crash (windows instability + programming incompetince), and unless it's an integral part of the system, a program that crashes isn't a major event.

I've never tried AIM, for that exact reason, windows instability + programming incompetince = crash. the only other aol software I've seen is some supposed clean up program that cleaned the obvious folders as well as the registry, on my old man's laptop(which I warned him against). between the safemode reboots I was able to recover the data he needed, so the two of three I've seen are terrible.

and if you've run windows for 3-4 years without a reinstall, you don't run it very hard. I'm not an &quot;every 6 months&quot; guy, but I haven't seen anything reliable over 2 years.
