Can't capture TV after driver update

I recently updated the drivers on my ATI AIW 9600XT to Catalyst 4.9 and now, despite going to Catalyst 4.10 and several previous versions of both Catalyst and Multimedia Center, it won't capture TV anymore. Before I tried updating I was having problems with scheduled records; they often wouldn't start on time even if the TV was already open. The One-Touch Record was still working at the time, but even that stopped after the update. Now when I click Record, the TV pauses for a split second (like normal) and the grey bar at the top of the screen shows the program (like normal), but the recording control window doesn't start. Could this be related to SP2? (I slipstreamed it into my install CD and did a clean build some time ago). I've even tried doing a repair installation of XP in case something went weird with Windows.
Do any of you have any ideas of how I can fix this short of a complete reformat of my entire system?

Are you using another hardrive for your captures? I've seen this issue after re-installing an OS. Look for an ATI folder on the capture drive and take ownership of the folder and its contents.

It worked! Thanks. I wasn't able to actually delete that folder because I was denied rights to it for some reason (even under a different admin login and from safe mode), but I was able to move it somewhere else on the hard drive so the ATI software had to make a new one.
The bad news is that after all this mess and many driver changes to try to get this to work, I can no longer use my second monitor. When I plug it in and tell Windows to extend the desktop, it doesn't detect the monitor and switches back to the previous configuration. I know that monitor isn't bad because when I physically switch it over to the VGA 1 cable it works just fine. Any ideas?
