im a newbie to linux, i installed 7.3 on second hard drive, i did a custom install, kde, when i boot it goes to lilo boot screen but it doesnt give me a choice to go to my windows xp

master
60 gig
10g xp
50g all my saved stuff

slave
6 gig
the three files for linux

ive been reading about the lilo boot conf, i can get to the screen, one of the choices is to add an os, i click it but im lost from there. everything i read is a little to high tech for my little bit of linux know how. i also took out the second hard drive and when it tries to boot it says grub file missing(i forgot the excact wording, but it says something about grub)

i also found my boot record written in command line at lilo.conf.anaconda - kwrite

any help would be appricated, thanks

OK,
Your not using LILO you're using Grub.
To get back into windows your going to have to boot off of alternate media like a CD or boot floppy.
Once done, from the command line type fdisk /mbr for Win9x/Me and for W2k or XP, from the recovery console type FIXMBR.
These will get you back to booting windows. What you do from here to dual boot depends on which version of Windows your running.

should i install lilo so i can choose, i messed around with mandrake a while back and it used to give my an option between the different oses.

your solution worked, but now i cant boot linux, ill do some reading tonight i remember something about boot disks. im running xp pro

thanks for the help
