i have a new 1800xp unlocked and a kr7a raid-133

i have installed everything with 1 ram and tried to bootup..

everything run fine, power is on, hsf runnning.

but my monitor shows nothing.

I am thinking that maybe the mobo cannot detect the processor speed or it cannot recognise its multiplier.

I power off -tried clearing cmos by removing the pin and fix on the clear cmos pin..put back the header into the default cmos pin..power on..still no boot

take out the cmos batter//leave it on the table for 5 mins..put it on..still no boot..

what else can i do and what do u reckon is the prob!!

cheers

check to see if u getting the boot up beeps that u normally get in most computers...from the mobo...

if u dont get any beeps then ur video card might just be the problem just take it out once then put it back on to the AGP slot again...

Get everything off the board except one stick of ram, cpu, video card and try to boot to floppy boot disk.

Pull the board, check cpu mounting, mem stick seating and video card insertion. Some memory sticks require serious force to seat, so I'd remove the board for this operation to prevent possible board damage. Try powering-up with mobo isolated from mounting studs - either outside case or with insulation between board and all mounting studs.

Add other system devices only after resolving your boot-up problem.

Hope this helps!

Edit: Did you ever have this system boot before unlocking the cpu? BIOS cpu-recognition is often better with cpu identified as 'User Define', rather than actual cpu model. Set multiplier to standard ratio for XP1800+ and set FSB speed for either 133MHz or 100MHz for initial boot. Ususal BIOS behavior for cpu-recognition failure is that BIOS will boot with some default multiplier ratio (11 for most XPs) and FSB of 100MHz.

What did you use to unlock? Some of the cpu's i've tried to unlock dod not unlock well and the multiplier could be anything.

Try another CPU
unlocking your CPU can cause problems if not done right or if something went wrong so to speak.
pop in another CPU (anything) just to see if it will run, a Duron, Athlon, Athlon XP, whatever.. or VERIFY that your CPU is working properly (meaning the way it was unlocked) by checking it over good.. or put YOUR CPU in another machine.. i am suspicious of the unlocking of the CPU.
