I have a P4 that I am putting together. I can not get it to see the cd rom that has the windows XP in it.

I have tried to change monitors, video cards, motherboard, even reseeded all devices but I can not get anything to view onto the screen. Am running an orginal copy of windows XP to try to set up the computer but if I can't see anything it makes it a little hard to do the setup.

Anyone with some help for me?

Do you hear any beeps?

If you've swapped out every other component and still no lovin, its possible your CPU is broken.

That is one thing I didn't want to hear Zero since I just got that sent to as a replacement from intel. Others have said it could be the cpu or the cd rom. Right now it has totally died on me and will not start up any longer. If it ain't one thing it is another.

No beeps, just the cd rom running no where. But now not even that.
That is what I thought with the motherboard but I switched to another motherboard and nothing. The cpu or the cd rom is all that is left.
