Can't boot from SCSI HD when SCSI CD-RW is plugged in

I have an Abit KT7A, Adaptec 19160, Plextor 12/4/32 SCSI CD-RW (50-pin non LVD) and a Seagate Cheetah 18XL (68-pin LVD). I have the Award BIOS set to boot from SCSI. And the Adpatec SCSISelect Utility SCSI Boot Device set to Device ID# 0, which is what the Cheetah is. The Plextor is on ID# 4. Upon passing the SCSI detection screen, i get "Press a key to reboot" as though it can't find a Boot sector. I need help. Any ideas?

is there a bootable cd in the cdrw? i just set up my system. it gave me that gay error until i took out teh cd. goodluck.

Try turning off options like CD bootability, and removable media booting. And also try other boot devices (in BIOS, not SCSI BIOS).
