Can't boot from CDROM...is it just my system?

Check out my rig in my sig. I want to install Win2k on my computer.

I have the latest bios for my BX6.2 mobo. I set the boot sequence to CDROM, C, A, and put the WIN2K CD.

However, when I reset, it doesn't go into the setup for Win2k (it goes straight into WIN98se, my current setup. I will wipe the disk when I install WIN2K.)

BTW, will my system be able to "handle" WIN2K?

Thanks,

Dan

EDIT: The CDROM (actually, Pioneer DVDROM) is on the Secondary Master.

UPDATE: I got it to work. I need to put the Secondary Master on AUTO so when it boots up, it detects the DVDROM.

Thanks,
Dan

I don't know why your system can't boot from the CD Rom but your system will be able to handle Win 2k for sure. You have enough. Are you using an original cd? I never had any problem with booting from cd before but if you still couldn't do it then I think you can always use the disk.

the CDs works. When I put it in under Windows, it runs the setup (or the part before).

can you use the boot disk? I just remember last time I had this problem with CD Rom also. I asked someone on this forum but don't remember how to fix it. I suggest you to use the boot disk if you can't use the CD Rom, it's the same. Win 2k start up disk contains 3 disk. I did that before so I know it's the same as booting from the CD.

If you are installing windows 2k on a hdd that is on a UDMA have your win2k drivers for the controller handy or you won't be able to install win2k on that hard drive because it won't detect it.
