Can't boot from 2nd HD, keyboard problem

Ok, so my iguana knocked my orange juice all over my other keyboard and it doesn't work anymore. Now I have always had a problem with this current keyboard, I have never been able to select what hard drive I want to boot from using the up and down arrows on this one. So it automatically selects the first HD after the 30 seconds or so. This keyboard has the usb connection, while my other one had the purple connector. Maybe this has something to do with it. Can anyone help?

Your motherboard BIOS might not understand USB keyboard. They have USB to purple adapters, but they're usually green.
