Can't Be 22 Degrees C.....

I am running a CUSL2 Bios flashed to 1001.A with a FCPGA 800.I and had about 31-33 degrees C with the stock HSF. I just put on Arctic Silver Paste, PAL35T w/ 60MM YS Tech and added a 120MM YS Tech case fan( geez is it loud..) and now it says 19-23 degrees Celcius.... Am I missing something or is this actually correct? Please LMK. noel@noellucas.com

I feel your YS Tech Pain.
He's how I sovled the loudness problem, rather inexpensively

See this article

And I *highly* doubt that the temperature is correct...I've heard some bioses messup the temp reports a bit...dunno if you're is affected (looks like it though)

Yea, the stock shipping bios does have temp issues I heard. I runb the latest 1001.A and it seemed to correct it with the stock cooling. Maybe it is correct because I tried a different way putting the thermal cable on the cpu and attaching to a cheap LED and I see the same temps Hardware Monitor sees.... Maybe it is correct. thanks for the fan info 🙂

you need to update to the 1002 bios's to correct the bios cpu temp readings. HOwever, Asus PC Probe in windows will also yield incorrect readings. The 1002 Bios just went final last week, and you can find this and other little tid-bits of info at CUSL2 users webpage.

Also, 31-33C with the stock heatsink would also be too low. Unless of course your room temperature is around 10-13C. 🙂

If you use MBM4.18 or higher, and specifically select the cpu diode(cusl2) setting, it'll auto-compensate the low readings and show correct readings.

Does the PAL35T fit good on the CUSL2? I mean, does it go on with realtive easy and without blocking DIMM slots or anything else?

Thanks,
CamaroGuy

the pal6035 does, so the pal35T will as well(they're exactly the same size wise.).

it should go on easily and because it is a socket mb, it doens't block any dimm slots.

yea, I just got MBM 4.18 tonight, it is reading about 89 F. I will be flashing to 1002 in a few minutes. Thanks for the link Mikewarrior. That's a new bookmark for 'ole IE. Camaroguy, it was MUCH easier to attach than the stock Intel HSF. It was very easy and didn't have any problems at all.

Exactly my feeling..... it's at 91 F now running at 933. (I went with the 800EB 133 Bus FC since it was a real pc133 mobo)
