Can't adjust speed of cpu fan with SpeedFan...

I was wondering it was possible to adjust the cpu fan using software....I have an Asus A8N-E and I know that it comes with Qfan, but Qfan just doesn't work that well for me. From what I had read, the asus a8n-e should support PWM (pulse width modulation) and therefore, be able to alter the fan speed.

Qfan (asus' automatic fan adjustment thing) is off and the cnps9500 fan is also connected to the motherboard fan header. Under speedfan, it shows the fan as "Speed01: 0%" but changing it does not affect the fan.

this problem isn't that complex....why isn't anyone posting?! I'm willing to bet that it might be able to fix by changing some of the settings under advanced in speedfan
