Possibly a dumb question, but do you have personalized menu's on (those are the ones where Windows hides menu items that haven't been used recently, there should be a little arrow at the bottom of the menu that will expand and show you the rest of the items)?

Yea, they would work the same in OE. Can you possibly post a screen show showing IE and tools menu open, something definately sounds 'weird'.

I think Paulson still has a site you can post pics too, drop him a PM to get setup.

The user Paulson here has a pics site he hosts for AnAndtech users, drop him a pm (private message) and ask him to get an account setup for you. That will give you a place to post the image.

Cheers,

Agreed! But, it kinda looks like he (Faye) has some third party UI installed (Windowblinds or something?). Faye, is that correct? If so, can you disable that, the 'Accounts' should be right between Message Rules and Options... I'm wondering if something else on the box (like windowblinds) is screwing the menu up...

i am using StyleXP to make my XP looks COOL

but anyways, i 've disabled and see , but still no effect.

however, without the hotmail account(which i am trying to get it back), it send and receive message so fast. like instant. when i turn on OE, the new message is there.

Sorry, the only idea I had was the Style thing screwing up the menu (did you actually reboot after disabling stylexp to test?). Other than that idea, I'm stumped...

Yes, very intriguing problem, wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it myself.

At this point, how bout trying a fix such as system restore to a point when it was working properly.

Alternatively, you might try booting to the WinXP CD and selecting the repair option.
