Can't add a printer

We have a print server setup at our building. If someone accessing it directly via it's name (\\name) and then double clicks a printer it install just fine.

Problem is if we go to Start / Search / For Printers and search by our Location, it finds all the printers but won't install them. When you see one and double click it, it says:

Could not connect to the printer. You either entered a printer namd that was incorrect or the specified printer is no longer connected to the server.

We've tried renaming the printers, using short names, setting all the names to be the same thing, settng full permissions to "Everyone" etc.

Any ideas?

EDIT: This is a Win 2k server and win 2k and win XP workstations. All have the same problem.
 
Hmm, only thing that comes to mind is your getting lm resolution in the first case and dns in the second? Are the printers properly in your dns, and do your clients have the right dns suffixes setup?

Sorry, just guesses, but hopefully a starting point..
