Title basically says it all. I can't access amazon.com, prime video on my roku, or through the browser on my phone unless I turn off wifi. I turned on my VPN on my laptop and it worked fine. Amazon said check my ISP. I checked with Spectrum and they blamed it on my router, but I don't think it's my router. What do you think?

So how are you connecting your roku and phone without wifi? Ethernet to router for the Roku and cell data for your phone?

I would suggest trying a different DNS but something doesn't make sense if my assumption above is true. I've used opendns in the past and I'm trying cloudfare now in my router. https://www.techradar.com/news/best-dns-server

Hopefully someone has a better idea. The suggestion above shouldn't be a harmful one in the meantime.

Sorry, I can only connect through my phone if I turn my phone's wifi detection off.

Using a VPN, I can indeed access amazon again. I tried contacting Spectrum again today and again got the "it's not us" response...

If you're using your ISP's DNS server it could have a problem or be under a ddos attack but I think that would cause problems with more sites than amazon. Perhaps your VPN uses their own DNS server and that's why it works fine.

The only other thing I can think of is Amazon is blocking your IP address for some reason. You could try powering down and unplugging your modem for a while or contact your ISP and see if they can assign a new IP address. Or you could contact Amazon but they probably wouldn't know what you're talking about.

I'm far from an expert and I'm basically just thinking out loud. Hopefully someone else has other ideas.

^^ Thanks, I really appreciate you taking the time to respond! Amazon had no idea when I called them and the operator didn't even know where to transfer me.

I guess I'll try Spectrum again... The whole thing is really odd.

Did you take your router out of the equation, and just attach a pc to the cable modem? Make sure you release the ip from your router before you connect the pc.

Did you check your current IPv4 WAN address against a "bogon list"? Those are lists of blocks of un-assigned (and thus, arguably, un-routable/spoofed) IPv4 addresses, that routers are configured to silently drop packets from.
