CAn't access the internet while burning a CD at high speed?????

I have 56k internet access. However, whenever I burn a cd at 12x with my lite-on burner, I can't access any websites anymore. AIM still works. Once the burning is done, the website loads.

COuld it be software specific? I am using NTI CD maker 2000 in WIn2k
