i've tried beta 5 and now 6 and both are the same. i go to 'network' and see the pc names there (2 other PC;s, both vista x64) and when i open either one, it's empty. 7.10 works fine though.

oddly, when i open totem I can access the drives that way (this is in alpha 6. didnt try this in a5).

this is all in vmware of course.

other Q while i have a thread - what kind of desktop effects do you get in ubuntu? i dont get to see them in vmware.

Ubuntu Hardy beta is very screwy and there's constant updates daily. Last week a update screwed up my wireless networking. It hasn't been fixed yet.

From what I've read, you can't do desktop effects while in VMWare. I use Ubuntu under VMWare at work and as my main OS at home.

sorry, i meant in a non vmware scenario. i cant tell since i only use it in vmware at the mo.

as far as heron - should it be this buggy now? isnt it a release away from a RC?

hi all, sorry for the thread revival.

anyone know if this bug is still there? wouldn't mind giving this another shot. 1 PC with ubuntu, the other with win7
