Trying to change some settings on my Actiontec mi424wr (verizon given router). In my sleepy stupor I loaded a save file wirelessly and changed the default ip 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.0.1

Since I changed it, I cannot access the router at all! I tried a restart, reset, and 30-30-30 reset, still nothing. Did I fry the router? All of the lights are still coming on.

ipconfig:
ipv4 address: 192.168.1.4
default gateway: 192.168.0.1

Manually set your IP to 192.168.0.xxx (xxx = 002 through 254) and then try to access it via 192.168.0.1.

So you can now access the router but not the internet?

Did you change your gateway to 192.168.0.1 (your current router IP)?

I'm guessing that your router is using DHCP with the addresses in the 192.168.1.xxx range so it gave your PC the wrong IP to use (but that's just a guess).

Why not change your IP of your router back to 192.168.1.1, save that and then change your PC back to receive the IP from the router?

I have the internet working for the computer with the static ip. My other can't access the internet. Do I have to change this computer to a static ip as well? Why is that?

See the Engineer's post above. That is the answer.

Just change the router back to 192.168.1.1 then set all PCs to DHCP

or Change the DHCP Range in the router to 192.168.0.XXX through 254.

or change all the PCs to use 192.168.0.XXX IP addresses.

Ok you set static IPs am I correct? Can I ask why? It would be better of the router assign it but thats not your issue.

Go to TCIP properties---->advance then i think its the third tab Netbios over TCIP check if its on default. if its not put it on default.

Then did you setup your wireless security on the router?

then do the following at the cmd prompt

netsh winsock reset catalog
netsh interface ip reset C(double dot bk slash)DAF-interface-resetlog.txt
netsh interface reset all
netsh firewall reset

Reboot.

Switch of your firewalll and try to acess your router
