Can't access certain website

I've used a custom windows 7 installation cd my friend put together. He put in all the updates as well as sp1 (but no ie9) so I use the media to install my PC because it doesn't have all the bloatware that came originally with the pc.

But problem is that with that cd, I cannot access one site, www.daum.net. It's a korean portal site but it cannot access the site. If I put in media.daum.net for news section, it works and I can browse all parts of the site but no access to the homepage. I've asked my friend but he has no idea. Could you direct me to a setting page where I can fix this?

TIA 🙂

Open a Command Prompt (Start>Run and type CMD).

In the Command Prompt, type nslookup www.daum.net (ignore the underline, the forums add that) and press enter.

You'll get the name and IP address of your DNS server, and then you should see something like this:
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: www.g.daum.net
Addresses: 180.70.93.55, 114.108.157.155
Aliases: www.daum.net

Make note of what it says on the Addresses line. If you get something different than what I posted, then you are getting invalid information from your DNS server, or you might have an entry in the HOSTS file that is pointing the domain to the wrong address.
