Hi there,

I'm getting highly annoyed. I wish to change various settings in my BIOS setup (accessed by pressing F2 at boot up) but only very basic settings are available (visible) such as time, date, IDE settings, remote access and about 3 other things. I want to be able to access all of them, or at least certain ones. I know the manuf has hidden them to stop people fiddling but I want to fiddle and know what im doing.

Please inform me of a was of unhiding them through any method.

I would be deeply grateful if anyone could help me.

My Laptop is:
Fujitsu Siemens Amilo M3438G (highest spec - 2 GHz CPU, 256 MB NVidia go 6800, 1GB ram, 160 GB

Thanks
Tom Neville

Most laptops are configured that way intentionally. Some of them don't have the options 'hidden' - they actually don't have the options at all.

If your laptop doesn't have them available and the manufacturer doesn't provide a BIOS update with additional options, you're pretty much out of luck unless you want to write a new BIOS for the system yourself. (I wouldn't recommend it unless you REALLY know what you are doing.)
