Considering the price of 450D/40D, XS seems...too expensive at this point.

What does Canon have against the "Jump" button? I find it very useful to scroll through the pictures on a large card...but it's been eliminated on at least the XS and XSi?

Yeah my brother bought a silver XTi and I asked "Where they out of black models?". He said no thats the color he wanted, 😱

I agree with Deadtrees, why buy a XS for $700 when you can get a much better XSI for about $824 or the 40D for $940.

At ~$600, the XS would be closer to the entry level price of other manufactures and would be a sweat deal. But then where would the XTi fit in?

why compare retail vs retail when you can compare retail vs low price on the intarweb?

i think the xti is not long for this world. a) it's old so it has to be discounted more (as opposed to the new hotness); b) it probably costs more than the XS to make (c) CF -- "i can use my old memory card with this D60, right? if i got the xti i'd have to get a CF card? how much is that, mr. best buy sales weenie? $50?!?"

XS uses XT's 7 point autofocus, I wouldn't pay nearly twice the money just for the liveview and 2 more MP... And the XTi is remoting competing with the XS too with same MP and better AF...
