Canon - When will they release a new FF to compete with Nikon?

FWIW, I am a Canon Fanboy.
But, lets be honest, Nikon is 1 to 2 generations ahead of then in sensor technology.
If they don't step it up, I may have to ebay everything and start collecting Nikkor lenses.
What are the rumors?

it's not a small sensor difference by any means. Sony/Nikon is way ahead of Canon in sensor tech. As a canon shooter, this sucks big time

Don't go by DXOmark overall numbers, which are useless. The big advantages of Sony's sensors (which are also in Nikon, Pentax) diminish greatly as ISO goes up. http://www.dslrbodies.com/newsviews/do-you-believe-in-dxomark.html

That doesn't mean Sony sensors do not have an advantage, but it's strongest at base ISO and diminishes a lot as you go to high ISO.

The differences aren't big unless you shoot at low ISO. I think Canon will release a whole bunch of new sensors all at once. They just don't sell as much as Sony since they only keep them in their own systems.

Nikon also uses Aptina sensors in the D3-D4s which hold quality for higher ISO.
