Canon vs. Sony: CMOS Sensor Development Progression

On the top, 4 Canon cameras using successively newer CMOS sensors. On the bottom, 4 cameras using successively newer Sony CMOS sensors.

I think this says it all, really. Canon has stagnated while Sony has steadily progressed:

Add the Pentax K-x, k-r and k-5, all for Sony. Sony is definitely kicking ass.
