What do you think is the better deal:

The Nikon D-100 is a 6.1 mp digital slr
-comes with a 17-85mm lens --> for about 1300

The Canon 20d is a 8 mp digital slr
-comes with a 18-55mm lens --> for about 1600

I picked up the d70 and felt like i was handeling a very high quality peice of photography equipment. It felt very durable and there were lots of a little features i liked a lot --
ex: larger lcd screen, and just the positioning of the buttons for ease of use

I picked up the 20d and it is slightly lighter, which i like and dislike at the same time (easier to carry, feels cheaper). The lcd screen is smaller which i dont like. I've talked to friends about this and they say the canon because they have used canons and like them better...what about you?

D70 is more of a digital rebel competition than a 20D competition. I'd pick the 20D easily.

20D!!

what the hell you need the bigass lcd screen for? you'll mostly be looking at the histogram, less you're a noob. :p

edit: also, if your friends already have canon lens, you can borrow them w/o spending a fortune.

i'll wait for GTAudiophile...:D

why are you considering a D100? the D70 is newer and has far better functionality than the D100. furthermore, you can upgrade the firmware and get it to act like a D70s.

like they said, use the search function

i seriously hope you don't get the D100. that would be a truly big mistake.

(and i prefer nikon SLRs over canon)

you can get the D70 WITH the 17-85mm lens for $999 minus $100 (mail in rebate). wouldn't you prefer that instead?
