My wife wants a d-slr. We have friends who love their Canons and those that swear by their Nikons. The T1i is just about right price-wise and also takes HD video.

This kit is available from B&H for $850:
Canon EOS Rebel T1i Digital SLR Camera Kit w/18-55mm IS & 55-250mm IS Lens

BB has the same kit for about $900.

It's not a bad deal. As for Canon vs. Nikon. It is highly unlikely that any entry level model will be the limiting factor for the average user.

Am I doing something wrong? I tried Amazon and it is still more tham B&H.

The Kit I was looking at has the body and both 18-55mm IS & 55-250mm IS lenses.

Click my link which is only for the body and 18-55mm lens. This is what Amazon is selling...however, you can add the 55-250mm to your cart and it will automatically deduct $200 during check out...linky

She'll love it.

Good price for a canon dslr...would have gotten it if I didn't have the 5d already.

I need a mark II to upgrade but don't have the money yet.:)
