Canon set to release new Pro series photo printers.

You might want to hang onto that i860---or up grade to a wide carriage non-chipped Canon--cause when they metion the chromalife inks with the pro 9000 you can bet you just bought a chipped canon and Canon will own you.

Now the pro 9500 is probably chipped too-----but a 10 color pigmented ink---gotta rate a this I have to see and let someone with more bucks than I try.

Well I don't buy generic ink for my printer. I really don't print much, but when I do, I want the photo to look the best possible so I always go with Canon ink and DEFINITELY Canon paper.

How do you think the longetivity of the prints will be? The companies always talk about light fastness, but it's gas fastness I'm more concerned with. The air in L.A. is not very pure, and I fear investing in the printer and paper and ink to find that after a few years the prints are fading. I really don't want to worry about keeping them under glass. Thanks for any thoughts. 🙂
