Canon SD500 owners: Did they decrease the point to shoot ratio yet?

I need to find a new camera and was looking into the sd500..

My friend has a sony though, the very thin one that takes pictures almost the instant you touch the button. But his flash is not as strong as the Canon I used to have.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I have an SD500.. I can tell you its well under a second, but I don't have the means to calculate it exactly.

SD400:
Shutter lag, the delay between depressing the shutter button and capturing an image, measured 1/10 second when pre-focused, and 1/2 second including autofocus; both times include the nearly 1/10 second delay in the LCD viewfinder's presentation of the live image

Looks like they're the same.

Yes and no.... the autofocus is stupid. I can have a model standing infront of a flat, white wall, and it will autofocus on the wall, not the model. When it focuses correctly, however, the pictures are amazing. That's really my only problem. Oh and the battery life isn't the best either.

Sony CyberShot DSC-T9. Shutter lag, the time between depressing the shutter and capturing the image, measured 1/10 second when pre-focused, and lag including autofocus was an equally impressive 3/10 second; both of these times include about 1/10 second of delay in the live image on the LCD viewfinder
