Personally I would go SD400, that's the one you want.

yeah I'll probably get the canon. the only reasons I like the z50 are: much more intiuitive/quick interface, instant voice record without turning on camera (just hold down the shutter button when it's off and it works like a voice recorder), automatically makes an html page of thumbnails on the flash card, function for taking quality pics of notes/whiteboards

Hi veryone,

I own the Canon A75 and the Sony DSC-S40, and I like both cameras. The Sony DSC-S40 have 4.0 million pixels and it take more pictures per set of batteries. S40 takes 200 pictures with flash and 400 pictures with out flash on 2 lithium-ion batteries.
