I have been a Canon fan for ages (since the S100). My last point and shoot was the SD850 IS (came out in 2007, about 2 gens back) - which was highly reviewed and the pictures backed up what all the accolades it was receiving. Unfortunately, I dropped it in sand/salt water and it's time for a replacement.
My question is what Canon models that are available currently best mimics the SD850 IS?
I borrowed a friend's Canon SD1200 IS and was not impressed. Night shots were great, but the auto mode overall produced washed out pictures like crazy. It made out faces look like Casper the ghost.
Should I get the SD780 IS or go for the 900 lines?
