OK guys. I have a Canon S200, and it is a great camera.

Well the dilemma lies in this. I wanna post up my photos online, except they are all too big. Each photo comes out to around 300kb~400kb, 1600 x 1200 for the picture size.

Well, i want to post them up, except I dont' have much space online. How can i get each picture around 30kb or 90kb?

Is there a program i can use to do this? I mean automate it? I don't feel like resizing each and every individual picture.

So can Photoshop do this? I mean, convert 1,500 photos into something smaller? Please let me know.

Same thing can be done in Thumbsplus from cerious.com

My sis was in the same situation. She took pics with a Canon S200. They came out so big (i.e., high resolutions) and some were flipped. It was a pain going through all 100+ pics and resizing or flipping. Tips from other users would be very much appreciated. Thanks to everyone who's given suggestions already.

The camera should've come with software, the ZOOM EX Browser or something like that. You can easily export that into something suitable for web use.

You could create a macro to flip all the pictures that need flipping.

Well you can resize/crop the pictures, but what I've found to be most helpful is to lower the pixels per inch. I've found using 72 pixels per inch works fine. Here's a picture of me a while back. It was scanned off an old photo but the pixels per inch were really high so I changed it to 72? I randomly read in some Photoshop help file that 72 is the special #.

here's how to do it in photoshop [6]

0. pick any pic and copy it into a new folder
1. go to PS -> action tab (in the same window as hisotry) -> create new action.
2. name it and hit record
3. open the pic in the new folder
4. resize it to your specs
5. save (dunno if you really need this, but why not)
6. stop the recording (controls are on bottom of the action tab)
7. go to file -> automate -> batch
8. select your action that you just recorded
9. select your source folder
10. for the destination chose "save and close"

*note - this will overwrite the orignals, so copy what you are resizing into a new folder first*

You can download it off my server here...

You have a server? Awesome.

To answer some of your questions,

I like having large pictures, pictures that are 2.1megapixels +. Reason why? So i can take them to Walmart and have them printed if i wanted to. This is the reason why I don't like lower the quality. I konw i can make the images 800x600 or even bump it up a notch, but i like having high res images. I tried what you guys suggested in Photoshop, but it is tedious. Guess i'll try and use Thumbnails.
