hey guys, I just got a canon s200 digi cam and i am very happy with it so far. But i have noticed that if i leave the camera on for 2-3+ minutes i can feel the chassis of the camera getting a little too warm. hmm... i wonder if this is only happening to me or is it also happening to other s2xx users.

My Canon A40 doesn't get that warm then again it's plastic vs aluminum and I rarely use it because I dunno how to use it.

hmm... does anyone with a s200 experience the same thing? i don't think its healthy to heat up the chassis like that.

I think it says something about extended use getting warm in the manual. Mine has not gotten noticeably warm, though it usually is close to body temperature since I care it in my pocket. When you say uncomfortably warm do you mean you need to put it down?

it is not burning hot, but you can tell that the chassis is getting a little warmer than usual. (sorry i can't accurately describe it) Yes, i remember reading the part about extended use will cause the camera to get warm, but 2-3 minutes is not that long of use.

just call canon....i had a problem with the compact flash door (my sis dropped it and it wouldn't close, so the camera wouldn't turn on), send it to canon, they fixed the door and upgraded the bios, and it should be back in my hand tom.

any of your s200 have grainy LCD? i compare my s200 with my friend S230, the lcd on mine s200 is grainy and not as clear as the s230.

my s300 does get warm after a bit of usage so i believe its normal. Been using it for over a year and a half now and no problems

my s200 gets a little warm as well, but nothing that feels unhealthy, and it usually takes a good deal longer than 2-3 minutes.

It's prolly the LCD that's getting the Camera really warm~

my Canon S330 got really warm when I kept the LCD on~ but cooled down once I turned it off~

I never had a problem with the s200 heating up. Maybe you have unusually warm hands heating it up since it is a metal casing?

I did notice once my s230 got a little warm after taking about 40 pics of the pool table (want to sell it) in about 10 minutes. but after 2-3 minutes it was fine.
