Canon S2 IS

My parents flew over to visit a week or two ago from Virginia, and my dad's 3 year old Kodak digi died suddenly in the middle of the trip. He used my Canon A95 for the rest of the trip, and was pretty happy with how it worked and the pictures he got. He just emailed me and said that he got a new S2 IS from somewhere called Blue Stripe (?) for $309 shipped, with a case and 512MB SD card. Lowest I could find it online from a DECENT store was like $350 or so, little less if you go to the crappy online stores like Butterfly Photo.

Anybody have one of these, any tips I can pass on to him? He was concerned about the non-optical viewfinder (he wears glasses), but he says that so far it's working well, and he can adjust the focus on it if he has his glasses on or not.

I have an S3 but according to the people on the Canon forum the difference is marginal at best, I would say that is a great deal.

He isn't into photography enough to warrant that kind of price though. He takes a lot of pictures, but mostly of friends and family and vacations, nothing he plans on trying to sell or frame. He had a 3MP Kodak, this is a huge step up for him, especially with the 12x Opt on it, it seems that at the price he paid it was a decent enough deal.
