Just to give you a resolution on my issue... I saw the buy.com $368 deal tonight, so I ordered that... then called Staples and said I wanted to cancel and order... gave them the full-price order I had placed, guy says "sorry, that item is already sent to warehouse for delivery" so I verify, you are SURE it's really in stock then? he says yes. I say great, give me a manager. I tell her the whole story, including the names of the two previous CSRs who on Friday flatly lied to me and told me the camera was no longer available at all. She apologized for them, claimed they would be reprimanded... then she offered to let me receive the monday-delivery order and adjust it from full price to something less, but said she couldn't let me have it as cheap as the $375 my original order was for. I said no thanks, I already got it for $368 from buy.com, please cancel -all- my orders with Staples.
I'm still just stunned that multiple CSRs would flatly lie to a customer, especially over something so easy to prove was a lie.
I'm further stunned when in the face of such evidence a manager tries to win my business back by offering me LESS of a discount that I had been promised in the first place as compensation. Anyway, add my voice fully to the Staples is suck crowd.
