Staples has the Canon S100 for 499. Onvia Sells it for 445. You can call Staples and do a price match and then use a 40$ off 200 coupon.

Are there any other coupons available?, can you use multiple coupons?

the pricematch works with shopper.com 387.95
I just did it, and my total came to 389.95

387.95
+ 8.25% tax = 419
+10 bux shipping = 439
-40 off 150 coupon = 389!!!!

This is the absolute cheapest you can get for this camera...everywhere it is 499.95! Anyhow, I was tempted to stack coupons, but the CSR even said..."u only got one dollars off coupon right?" he mentioned that the managers will go thru the sales and "pending code approval" then it will be shipped out.

So just go with the 40 off...dont try to get to greedy and screw this deal up...
thanks

I called Staples in Thursday, pricematched the camera which with overnight came to $435... I then applied three $-off coupons, one $40 and two $30, final total was $375. Next day I get a call that my item is suddenly "no longer available."

I called without mentioning I already ordered, and asked to check stock in my zip code. They said 9 were available. So THEN I asked why mine wasn't and they backpedal saying uh, the computer must be wrong. I tell them 3 local Staples all have it in stock they say they can't get it from B&M stores. Then I say fine send it from another warehouse, I'll wait a few days, they then claim they don't have it available at ANY warehouse. I bring up the fact it looks an awful lot like they're trying to weasel out of the low price. They deny it and insist that at 9pm on Thursday they got a memo to not accept multiple $-off coupons. I point out I ordered Thursday _morning_ and they agreed, yes, I should be getting the $375 price but they simply don't have any. Finally after an hour of talking to 3 different folks one CS person agrees to put it on backorder at the $375 price. As soon as I get off the phone with her I go to the web site (where it is STILL listed in-stock) and order one at full price. Unsurprisingly my order status now reads 'shipped'

When it shows up on Monday I'm gonna call and ask for a VP and completely bitch them out for lying, then demand they refund the cost difference from the full-price one and my $375 order.

Staples IS suck.

thats why i mentioned not to use the stacking method for staples...i mean i dont think its worth it...with just one 40 off coupon its at 389..I just dont see the problems as being worth the extra 9 bucks as being compensation.

Anyhow, the way I laid it out above is totally "legal"...one code...and a pricematch with shopper.com's 387.95 price.

anyhow, I hope you get that taken care of and it works out for u.

knightshade, you were kinda asking for it, i mean it says on their site that there is no using more than 1 dollar off code, so you do it through the csr.

I explicitly asked the CSR upfront, can I use more than one coupon? She said yes, so long as the total order was more than the total amount of the coupon requirements (ie it was $453 after pricematch, so I could use 3 coupons that were $x off $150). I asked her TWICE to check this and she said yes.

The CSR I talked to the next day said they had sent out a memo instructing CSRs not to do this 12 -hours- after I had placed my order.

Further, I have no sympathy for them in that preventing a CSR from entering more than one $-off coupon is all of 5 minutes of programming work. I could've done it in BASIC when I was 5 years old on my COMMODORE PET.

I asked twice if it was allowed, I was told it was, so I did it. THEY are the ones lying about not having the thing. Don't blame me because their system sucks, their CSRs are poorly trained, -and- they lie to customers.

I'm not mad about the coupons. I'm mad a company would lie to a customer.

If I had gotten a call saying "I'm sorry sir, but that CSR made a mistake and should not have taken 3 coupons, would you still like the item with the one highest applied?" I would have gladly agreed.

It's the fact that they are trying to weasel out of honoring the low price by flatly lying to my face, from 3 different CSRs so far, that offends me. If a company screws up I'm more than willing to deal with it if they are polite and fair...Staples isn't.

Freestyler: How did you get it for so cheap? If you used a lot of gift certificates, then you pretty much paid for it. I looked the Canon up at Amazon and it comes up at $499.

Uhhh...

How can you say that everywhere is $499 when you found it for $387? Shopper.com has 421 of those cameras, charges 7.95 shipping and NO TAX.

Just order the camera from shopper.com...

$387.95
$7.95 for 3-7 day shipping
NO TAX
-------
$395.90

It's not worth using all that hot-deal kung-fu to save less than 2%...

hahaha souja is soooo right. The msrp is $499 now i think , at circuit city, staples, ritzcamera etc its $499. But its really dropped in price, the best time to get it was a couple weeks ago when it was $365 shipped at mpsuperstore. Hmmm i just checked it out, that firstsource place has the lowest price by arond $30 of anywhere online. Its in californica though so i guess if you do the pricematch and coupon thing you'd save around $40 if you live in cali

souja...i think u are right when u think about saving time and hassle..but firstsource which is where it was listed for 387...but firstsource's cust support sucks ass..at least staples answers the phones..and a human picks up. Not the case for firstsource...which is why i thought this deal was pretty good...cuz i would have just tried to get it from firstsource if they had ever answered their phones...

BTW...anyone know of the best deal for a 48 or 64 meg CompactFlash card?

Something of note, I tested 4X xompact flash and 10X compact flash on friday. Both took about 2 seconds per picture so at least in the Canons case it doesn't take advantage of faster write times.

freesytler i guess that sorta counts, but well you could have spend that $150 and those two $15 on something else, so really you paid the same amount. Its just like if i gave you $300 in amazon certs, and you bought a camera for $300 it wouldn't have been free. So really you paid $450 of gifts certificate and cash for it.
