This machine is a piece of JUNK! My brother was mistakenly sent one instead of a cheap fax, and it fell apart when he was trying to use it the first time. He sent it back and got the cheap fax.

No....you're taking that wrong. It just means it needs both cartridges installed to work. It comes with ink.
