What are you looking to do with it?

Do you need a long zoom lens?

Canon also makes a budget super-zoom, the SX100, which is ~$100 less, but still offers a 10x optical zoom, 8 megapixels, and image stabilization.

Don't need a long zoom lens? Try the Canon A720 IS, which also offers 8 megapixels and image stabilization with a 6x optical zoom.

If you want something that is small enough to stick in your pocket and take with you everywhere, check out the Canon SD800/850/870 IS.

well what do you want? a P&S or a DSLR? learning curve on a DSLR is higher and you will have to spend more on lenses with the Nikon D50 to cover the same focal lengths as the S5IS (S5IS can do 35mm to 420 mm equivalent IIRC, but it can focus at 0mm in its supermacro mode). But the D50 will give you better pictures. And I'd be wary about buying from that dealstudio.com link you linked in your first post. Cant even find an entry for them on resellerratings.com

edit. nevermind. that link links you to amazon.com. I'd say $335 for the S5IS is a pretty good deal

Thanks for your reply, I am not that professional in photograpy I just want to get a easy for use and solid caemra with sharp pictures. I would expect it to be good for both indoor and outdoor use.
