This camera works great for normal long distance pictures, but without a tripod and a still subject, macro and close up detailed photos are a pain in the rear to get to turn out

I might get 1/10 in focus and perfect, if I am lucky.

I'm going to be taking a lot more up close pictures in the next year for my business, and want them to be somewhat professional and not take 50 pictures in order to get 5 in focus just to pick from... if Im going to take 50 pictures Id rather at least half of them be viable :)

Edit: the question is, do I need to upgrade to achieve this? And if so, what are the minimum upgrae options?

Animals, Snakes mostly. Snakes range from 1' long to 5' long, but are curled up most of the time.

Also close up shots of just the heads (1-4 inches + background)

def get is. it makes for better pictures, and better chance u can get off a picture in lower light(longer shutter speedpossible)
medium cost cameras have those dinky sensors that suck at low light so the blurry pictures are common
