Canon Powershot A40 Owners!

Could you please post some sample pics? I have looked at a ton of them online, but they are all from professional review sites. I wanna see some amatuer's results! If this is in the wrong forum, please move it and yell at me.

Compared to my HP 315, this camera SMOKES it. I am going to Hawaii at the end of October and I wanna have a good camera to take with me.

Yeah so many people here own the A40.

It would be nice to see some of their amatuer pics rather than the ones posted at the review sites as well as some personal experiences.

On some of those links people were talking about an auto-focus problem. Anyone had any issues with that?

Most of these pics are from two newspaper assignments for my school. I got some pictures of random stuff and of some of my friends. I've used the manual settings mostly, but I've noticed one problem in particular...it is pretty much impossible to get extreme close-ups, but for most stuff, it is great...I just got mine two weeks aog and really began messing with it the past week.

Anyway, here's a large sample of amateur pics

from the imaging-resource.com review.. it says:

the A40 offers a 3x optical zoom

and

2.5x digital zoom.

For one thing, isnt it strage the Optical zoom is higher then the digital zoom... And the picture of the camera says 7x.. what is that 7x, I cant make out the rest of the text..

well they're wrong...it is 4.5x digital zoom. Musta been a typo. I got 3x optical then it goes up to 7.5x, but its digital after 3. Digital zoom is useless though...just makes the pic grainy...if you need to zoom, just use photoshop

Also, how big are the movies if you take the largest one you can? Does it fill up the 8mb Card? I have an extra 64mb Card I can use too.

I would post some very cool pics of my dogs that I took, but I don't have internet from home yet.

But the camera is very cool and I would highly recomend if if you are considering.
