I got a new A10 powershot, and I was wondeing if there was any way to transfer images from it to my computer other than using the camera's twain driver (it's pretty clumsy and unattractive). I'm using Win2k if that matters... Is there a way to make Windows recognize it as a removable drive? I mean the camera itself, and not the CF card with a reader - I guess that would be easy but I don't have a CF USB reader, and if the camera could act like one I don't know if I should get one.. would installing winXP help? I heard it had better dig. camera support - perhaps it would recognize it and I wouldn't have to install these ugly drivers? Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure if a driver like that exists or not. I'm sure canon would have included it in their software CD if it did.

A CF reader is definatly the way to go. You can get a SanDisk one for ~$20, which acts as a removeable drive and saves the batteries in your digicam for picuture taking, not transfer

yes.. that would be good, however right now I don't want to spend money now on a CF reader. at least is there any better twain driver for this? like a generic one? this canon one is messed up. does XP natively support this camera?

yeah.. thanks...
for the interested - win XP solved the problem - plug in camera - wizard downloads pictures and automatically names them. I wonder what's with this forum. there hasn't been one single question for which I could get an answer.
