Canon Pixma MP760?

Anyone have any experience with this printer? I've started to fall in love with Canon and was thinking about picking one of these up. Suggestions?

I just got over the weekend a MP780....it is an awesome machine..it uses the same pixma print engine as the IP4000....I own a canon S820 which I thought produced outstanding photos..it uses 6 inks..cyan, magneta, yellow, photo magn, photo cyan and blank

I thought the same picture done on both machines looked near perfect....I personally thought some of the skin tones were better on MP780

Text quality is very good as compared to my older HP930C which I thought printed text excellent

Scanner is better than my Umax 600S(which is like 7yrs old..it does legal size doc though)..nice scan quality, and much faster....I am sure there are better standalone scanners but when I bought one 1-2yrs ago I was unimpressed with speed or quality compared to my older Umax(which I thought was better)

Copies are very good and can be printed double sided...black is a little dull as compared to text black...I think this has to do with which black cartridge it is using for copies..my wife loved the copy quality...it was ok for any use IMHO

My feeling is this is one awesome machine..looks great
For my uses this produces results as good as a separate color& text printer,scanner...

Bonus Features:
ADF..wow..I have tried this yet
can be used to copy without a computer and nice performance
looks good...feels well built
2 paper sources
auto duplexing

Many complain about the speed of duplexing..my HP 930C has an addon duplexer I bought for it...the MP780 duplex speed is like lightning compared to it...it is not as fast as printing one alone x 2...but the fact you do not need to turn over the paper..is worth the time....people are expecting too much from this machine

I realize if you spend $200-300 on printer and $20-300 on scanner you will get better..maybe

The only annoyance is the fax machine..still working on best way to set this up
Note the MP780 is bigger brother to MP760 with auto document feeder

Also the manual is not great..fax explanations are a bit weak
The LCD can not show pics and is B&W

Office Depot has the MP780 for $249 this week

I got mine from Staples @$249 with PM to officemax and maybe get a $50 rebate also..this YMMV..this deal I believe has expired

I hope this helps

awesome... thanks. I know on the mp760 there is an lcd and no fax (don't want one anyway, so your gripes should be ok!)

Hmm..I did not realize the MP760 had an LCD for viewing of Pics..the other nice thing is memory card slots....the MP780 does not have this

well it is a newer unit..it lacks the fax feature, ADF..so there is a trade off...

do you want the 2.5 LCD for photos and media card slots and scan 35mm slides and negatives...or ADF and Fax...I wanted the fax feature but I had no idea of the differences bewteen the MP760 vs MP780...

with that said I may get the MP780 for only $220 AR and PM (with tax ugh)

update: bought an mp760 for $140 - 190 @ amazon - 50 mail in rebate (bought a canon a95 too)

printer arrived and i couldn't be happier... awesome awesome awesome
