canon multipass c5500 printer in windows2000 prof

I upgraded my OS to windows2000 professional, and have been unable to install my printer (canon c5500 multifunction). I went to canon's website for updated drivers, which I downloaded, but as I go through the install steps there towards the end it says something about a digital signature it can't find.

And that's where it ends, it says it can't install these drivers.

Anybody heard of / had this problem
