1. older carts so you can buy generics
2. print engine of ip4000
3. kinda big

mp830

1. newer locked carts so you can only refill them with bulk ink.
2. print engine of ip5200 which is very good for photos.
3. smaller
4. little bit faster

I'd probably buy the MP830 and use bulk ink in it.
