how about the Brother MFC-420CN? besides it use up ink fast (but the generic ink is as cheap as those canon).
It can be in network (the "N") and its 99AR

with 12% and may be the 15 off 75 in paper... it may be a nice deal.

(BTW, there is a 30 off 150 in local paper yesterday for staples here in NJ.)

I doubt you can use both 12% and 30 off 150..I would use the $30 slightly better deal...I think the MP780 is an awesome unit... print quality is excellent for everything

Best of all it uses Generic Canon Ink. These will be collectors items once people realize thay have to spend $25 for a Canon OEM cartidge on the new models

I will see if I can pull this off tonight at staples B&M: canon sd400 + Epson Cx3810 + Digitial protection kit + 256MB SD memory... for $249 (local store instant saving $50 for all dc over 249)...- whatever 12% and 30 off....

Uses an enormous amount of ink. One cartridge is only good for about 30 sheets of paper. Even if only one cartridge is empty, the printer will shut down completely.

I inherited this printer/fax/scanner and the quality is fine. I would never buy it, because it eats ink like crazy. I have had multiple HP printers and NEVER went through cartridges of ink this fast. I go through these in 2 weeks and I don't even print photos, just internet pages with color. Cost you $100 in ink every few weeks.

They get you at the back door instead of the front door. Also I have not heard to many good things about the Brothers reliablity.
