Canon i950?

Is it possible that installing the off brand ink has made the pictures suck?
Is there another setting I am missing which is screwed up?
I ahve it set high quality and have tried both Glossy and Glossy plus paper settings.

What exactly is your complaint? Missing jets? Off colours? Smearing?
The print is very grainy, low res, and almost has blobs of ink in parts, like the contrast was too high, and in certain places over loaded the photo paper.

What does your nozzle print pattern look like? Try running some deep cleaning cycles. The nice thing about generic ink is that you don't have to worry about wasting it by running deep cleaning. 🙂 I had an i850 die on me. I was also using generic ink, but I'm not sure if that was the cause of it.

Sounds like bad ink, absolutely.

You might want to take the print head out, clean its underside, its resting position including the airtight seal to the right of the printer, as well as the wiping blade. Then install genuine ink, run multiple "intensive" cleaning cycles, and then run a nozzle test again to see if it comes back. Else, it'll be new printhead time. (They're available, and if you shop around a bit, not THAT expensive.)
