Just wondering if any of you have heard about the Canon HF200 having any firmware updates that allow it to recognize Class 10 as something that can record at all data rates rather than just the lower 3 (12mbps and lower).

I just bought 2 32G cards on sale (Patriot I think?) and it will not recognize the speed class.

Is there any way to get the thing to see that the card is fast enough to meet its needs for the two HQ settings or am I looking at an RMA?

Class 10 won't work. Forget about it.

Just get the Class 6 cards like Sandisk Extreme III or Patriot Class 6.

I can't forget about it man.

I have the card already! (I tested it out by putting it in each of the devices used and it seemed to work, but I never tested it for the higher formats... duh... :( )

The sale price was actually cheaper for a C10 than the C4 and C6 cards I have been looking at now... I think my wife would kill me if I got another (she already chastized me about what I got!)

I wonder if I can cry to Canon if they would actually listen or just laugh and say "no way funny american boy! Buy another card!!!".

Unfortunately the best you can do is return the cards and tell them they are not compatible. Ask for Class 6 replacement.

Heh.

Newegg would probably be cool with that, but I think they would still require restocking (I opened the package) and of course shipping to get it back.

No matter. A friend of mine is willing to buy one off me. I will wait for a C6 to go on sale.....

Thanks!

Uh, what's the problem here? I just recently bought a couple class 10 pny cards that were on sale and popped one into the camera and another into the video recorder and used both over the holidays.
